also pp maxs are better

so this is not where you buy well somke areas are but why waste your money when you can find them for free

To add on to blobyolo's answer, you can trade a Star Piece for a PP Up in Anville town on weekends.
PP maxes are found in: Castelia City, Relic Castle (With Dowsing Machine), Nimbasa City(win a certain trainer in the Small court/Big stadium).

where exactly do you trade for the pp up? i went and couldn't find anyone to trade one with. do you have to go to anville at certain times on the weekends??

There are some special weekends when no people appear. These are very rare and you probably ran into one of them. Don't worry, it happened to me, too. But on normal weekends, go to Anville Town and talk to the business man-looking guy and he will give you a PP up for a Star Piece(you can bring a fighting-type Pokemon to the Challenge Rock in Pinwheel Forest to get one).

you can't buy it anywhere but trading in Anville town on weekedns (be aware - some weekends there isn't guy to trade with!) talk to all the guys.

and also you can get PP Max which is better at the big stadium and small court. Fight with the veteran
