kanto region in heartgold

Question

When you visit the kanto region in heartgold is it just the gyms you can go too or can you explore the whole map?

You will be able to explore all of the Kanto region freely.
They have changed a few things since Red/Blue/Fire Red/Leaf Green, (like accessibility to some places), and additions such as a train that takes you from Johto to Kanto, but its pretty much the same.
It's really cool!

You basically start a new journey again, backwards to Pallet Town!
There you will also gain access to the Pal Park in Fuschia City.

But there is a ton of stuff for you to explore again, as well as gain 16 badges! :)

You can get to the Kanto Region after you beat the Elite Four. Then go to Olivine City and go to the S.S Anne. It will let you go to the Kanto region, and you will be in this city. That means your in the Kanto region! You can train there and stuff... then you can challenge the gym leaders!

Oh! I almost forgot. You have to complete the WHOLE map in the Johto region. Then you have to go the Elite Four and beat it. And then you can go to the hall of fame and just read what's on above. ^^^

You get to Kanto once you have defeated all the gyms and elite 4 in Johto.Once you defeat the Johto champion you will wake up in your home in New Bark town and then you have to visit Proffeser Oak and he will give your ticket for the S.S Anne.After you board off you will be in Kanto.Kanto is the same except all the routes have been shortend and you will most likley complete Kanto in less than half the time it took you originally.
