Is it a good idea to test my action replay device on my Pokemon Diamond game before using it on Pokemon White?

I'm not sure about using it on my Pokemon White game because I have so many good Pokemon on it and I have completed the game.If it gets wrecked,I'll probably lose them.But I haven't got very far on Pokemon Diamond,so is it a good idea to use it on that?

It is not a good idea to use an action replay period. an action replay can cause irreversible problems with your game and your DS. so if you value your game you should not use it
