Gems and Allied Pokemon

Question

Will a Gem activate if I used a move on my partner Pokemon? Like my Feraligatr @ Ice Gem uses Ice Punch on my partner, will Ice Gem activate?

yes it still applies for your partners pokemon i have tried on hilda 3 months ago it does work
