Gothitelle and Lucario

Question

I put them in the Day Care, in an attempt to get a Gothita with Dark Pulse. My Lucario knows Dark Pulse, and I'm sure I took at least 255 steps. Is there something else I need to do?

An egg does not apear every 255 steps, every 255 steps the almighty statistics decide whether or not you get an egg.
