Omastar (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Broken Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Boil Over
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Shell Smash
I'm working on figuring out a gen VI Omastar set myself.  I thought that rock/water would compliment my Mega Altaria well and I thought that Omastar would fit the bill.  What would a good EV spread be?  Mine is Bold, by the way.  I was thinking some sort of 4-way between HP, Def, Sp. Def, and a bit of Sp. Atk.

Another underrated overlooked Pokemon.

Omastar @ White Herb
Ability: Shell Armor / Weak Armor
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Calm Nature / Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Scald / Surf
- Ice Beam
- Ancient Power

  • Shell Smash: Only needs one. White Herb restores his defenses. Weak Armor also uses the White Herb, but it is very risky.
  • Scald / Surf: STAB.
  • Ice Beam: Coverage.
  • Ancient Power: STAB.

Hail team set, even though I hate Hail.

Omastar @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Def / 200 SpA
Bold Nature
- Ancient Power
- Blizzard
- Water Pulse
- Earth Power / Mud Shot

Ancient Power: STAB, also may boost the stats and hits enemy Ice Types.
Blizzard: Won't miss in Hail, hits Grass Types.
Water Pulse: STAB, may confuse, hits Ground Types.
Earth Power/Mud Shot: Choose between power or lowering Speed. It hits Fire either way to support Ice Types on the team.

sorry poke' it's a bit hard to read, could you format it out a little bit better (i.e the way trachy has done it). Sorry, it looks like a good set but it's hard to read.
Sure, PX.

Omastar is pretty good as a rain sweeper, similar to Kabutops. But it can also be used as support.

Omastar @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock / Toxic Spikes
- Rock Tomb
- Iron Defense
- Scald

You have two options for hazard-setting. Stealth Rock, or Toxic Spikes. Rock Tomb is for lowering the opponents speed and is Rock STAB. (though it doesn't matter that much since rock types are generally slow) Iron Defense is for boosting defense. Scald is for a burn chance and is Water STAB.

Stealth Rock is better than Toxic Spikes 9 times out of ten

Gen V

Omastar (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SpA / 220 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Shell Smash
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Poor typing makes use as a wall not so favorable an option. As such, Shell Smash sweeper. Focus Sash lets you get in Shell Smash. Scald provides STAB and a good chance to burn, which is really nice. Ice Beam provides type coverage. HP Rock is the most powerful special Rock type STAB available to it. Since you'll be taking a hit when setting up with Shell Smash (most likely) Weak Armor should activate and give you a helpful Speed boost. Sweeper EVs.

Isn't AncientPower as strong as HP Rock? On top of that it has a chance to boost all stats...

Gen V Set for Omanyte

Omanyte (M) @ Eviolite
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Spikes
- Knock Off
- Protect

Set up your entry hazards, annoy your foe by removing their item, then lower their PP. Yeah, just another Pokemon I had a set for to test out use with Eviolite. Wall EVs, and Shell Armor protects from crits.

Role: Lead

Omastar (M) @ Red Card
Ability: Shell armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Hydro Pump

Rocks, Spikes, and T-Spikes are all of the hazards. So Omastar sets up.
Then Hydro Pump is his STAB attempt.

I'd go with surf hydro pump has quite fail accuracy for me even in PO
Sucks for you, doesn't really fail for me. Plus, Surf won't do jack crap anyway, he needs the extra power consider he has only 4 Ev's in Special Attack.
While I don't generally recommend no attack moves, you might (might) want toxic in that fourth slot if your attacks don't do anything.

Double/triple Battle

Omastar (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Shell Smash
- Blizzard
- Hidden Power [Rock]

Risk it damn it, risk it! Shell Smash is just too powerful to pass up. Surf and HP Rock are STAB. Surf also hits multiple foes. Blizzard hits multiple foes.

Role: Sp. Atk Sweeper

omastar

Omastar @ Life Orb / Focus Sash
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Surf / Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Ice Beam / Earth Power

=== EXPLANATION ===

Unlike most White Herb + Shell Smash combinations, Omastar doesn't really need White Herb because of its low defenses. It's most likely going to be one-shotted with a strong super-effective move, like Close Combat or Energy Ball (even if you have White Herb). Focus Sash is much more effective in this case. Life Orb is also a possibility for boosting its damage, but you may not always get to set-up Shell Smash.

Surf and Hydro Pump are both high-power alternatives, but Surf is generally preferred for its good damage and its 100% accuracy. You shouldn't be using Scald because it slightly lowers Omastar's power and a sweeper like Omastar doesn't need to have the burn chance.

Hidden Power [Grass] is always a necessity because it grants that bulky Water-types do not wall Omastar.

Ice Beam is generally preferred for dealing with annoying Grass-types. Earth Power does see some usage in dealing with Electric-types, but it has limited usage outside of that.

Gen 8 ZU
Omastar
Omastar @ Power Herb
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shell Smash
- Surf
- Meteor Beam
- Earth Power / Ice Beam

Shell Smash doubles your Special Attack and Speed. Surf is STAB. Meteor Beam is also STAB, and it raises your Special Attack, and can be used in one turn thanks to Power Herb. For the last move, Earth Power is to give Omastar a special variation of the EdgeQuake combo, or run Ice Beam to deal with grass types.

Omastar (M) @ Life Orb / Power Herb / White Herb
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump / Muddy Water / Scald
- Blizzard / Ice Beam
- Ancient Power / Meteor Beam
- Earth Power / Shell Smash

Hydro Pump, Muddy Water, and Scald are All STAB and they all do additional effects (except Hydro Pump.) Blizzard can freeze those target(s). Ice Beam can freeze the target. Ancient Power is STAB and may raise all users stats. Meteor Beam is 120 power and 90 accuracy and Power Herb executes it on 1 turn and it raises Special Attack. Earth Power lowers the targets Special Defense, which makes it weaker to special moves and make more damage to the special moves. Shell Smash sharply raises Speed, Attack, and Special Attack, but lowers Defense and Special Defense. We need to use a White Herb for it. Shell Armor protects from critical hits.
