PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the way I think about it, the Pokémon that are called “legendaries”, but not in the position of kind of a “final boss”, such as latios and latias, are classified as “sub-legendaries”, and the Pokémon that are in the position of “final boss”, such as Miraidon and Koraidon, and are classified as “full legendaries” “box-art legendaries” or just simply “legendaries”. My question is, are Terapagos and Ogerpon “box-art legendaries” because they are the bosses of the S/V DLCs, or do those not technically count as their own games?

Though these are all fan terms and, as a result, are arguable on whether or not Ogerpon and Terapagos are fit into this category, what is usually used to separate "Sub-Legendaries" from "Full-Legendaries", which are officially referred to as Special Pokémon, are that Full-Legendaries are generally restricted or banned from use in in-game Battle Facilities, while Sub-Legendaries are not. As Terapagos and Calyrex (and their forms) are considered Special Pokémon, they are the only Full-Legendaries introduced in the DLCs.

Okay! thanks. I know that they're unofficial terms, but I just figured that we're fans, right? I've heard of but wasn't sure about the "special" Pokemon; I've always liked how you do your answers.
btw, another indication could be the VGC banlists
