PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Not sure if this belongs here or the Smogon forums, but anyway.
I was on Showdown for a very long time and knowing that they made a Digimon event, and I was like "what the hell?" I only played like a format of that event and that's it.

Now the question is, why they aren't making any events like this anymore? Is it because they don't have enough knowledge about the Digimon franchise or is it battles and mechanics in both Pokemon and Digimon franchises doesn't quite match with each other?

Interested to know why they dropped that idea (If they really did).

It is probably better to ask on Smogon Forums for this.

From a little bit of research, I could find this which *might* help:

https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/digimon-battles.3665423/

https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/digimon-showdown-cyber-battle.3659539/

Don’t know if they are the same or different endeavors. :P
they're different authors. The second one you linked is dead, there's no functioning link to the project (its website is dead), and the first one is about the official dimensional rift project (i guess it's been renamed to let's go digimon) i linked in my answer.

I think I used to know the person who made this...

Anyway, the github repository for the mod still exists and can be implemented into any Pokémon Showdown server. You can play it on the Dawn server still, with randomized teams.

It was just an April Fool's event. I think it was more popular than anticipated, but it's since been rejected as a format.
