I was playing Black 2 when I zoned out and got distracted and completely closed out my game to open White 2 to start a nuzzlocke. I then realized what I had done halfway through the opening credits of white two and panicked. I really hope It didn’t reset the rates as I was at 2200.

(Edit) so basically, I was shiny hunting in Black 2, closed out the game to open another game, then realized what I did, and no answer online can give me a solid answer on if it sets my encounters (2200/8192) back to (1/8192)

Are you talking about soft resets?
If you're talking about Shiny rate, then this similar question will also solve yours: https://pokemondb.net/pokebase/391825
Can you clarify what you’re talking about?

What you did has no effect on how soon you'll get a Shiny.

The reason you couldn't find a straight answer is that you misunderstand what 1 in 8192 means. 1 in 8192 is your chance of finding a Shiny on any given encounter. It is not a timer that goes "ding ding, shiny!" when it crosses 8192. You are just rolling the proverbial die over and over until it gives the outcome you want. The die doesn't care that you stopped rolling it and did something else for a while.

The reason you count your encounters is so you can shake your fist at Junichi Masuda for not bestowing a Shiny upon you despite 15000 encounters. That could happen to you, or maybe you will load up your game tomorrow and it'll hand over the Shiny first try. All you can do is keep going and find out, or maybe try ways to increase your odds.
