I have a Scyther I would like to evolve into Scizor, but since the WFC is discontinued, is there any other way to evolve it than trading?
If you have two DSes and two Gen 4 games, you can still trade locally and get your Scizor that way. If not, it's unfortunately not possible -- Scyther only evolves via trading and there's no way to get a Scizor in the wild.
