Where are places I can play Doubles offline in S / V?

Question

I was thinking I could play Doubles at Montenevera, but I can’t seem to start a battle at the battle field, so I’m out of ideas. I really wanted to see how the Dondozo-Tatsugiri animations would look like.

I think the Mountenevera Gym is the only location base game where you can engage in a Double Battle with two of your own Pokemon on the field. I don't know about the DLC, though, since I don't have it yet.

you'll have to battle someone in a local battle, there's no other double battles. You can always just buy switch online and play dondozo tatsugiri on VGC, it's a pretty good engine

In the hidden treasure of area zero part 2 (indigo disk), most (I think all) battles are double battles. There are many videos on youtube of this animation.
Also (if you had not done it yet), at the end of the story, you get to rematch all the gym leaders including Ryme.
