Will a Pokémon with Storm Drain still draw in a water type move if it protects on the turn that the water type move is used?

Yes. In this replay, I directed Chilling Water at Stonjourner, but Gastrodon still took it. If you'd like to test it yourself, enter a double battle with the teams I used:
