Does the Dive Ball work on Kyogre and/or Lugia in ORAS?

A lot of these questions about whether specific balls have their benefits in specific situations are impossible to know without data mining, and there seems to be a lack of info on the subject on the internet.

This only works on Pokémon caught from a fishing rod or Pokémon that are swimming in a body of water. (Not to mention that it can work any time in raid battles in sword and shield.)

@McRib I just looked at the dupe link, and I think that that answer did not have a credible source, as PokemonDB’s page doesn’t describe the specific balls well. I’d say the best source for this is a list of Pokémon and/or locations that support the Dive Ball, but as you said already, that probably hasn’t been done yet.

Serebii says on the Dive Ball Page: “The Dive Ball is a PokéBall that works best on Pokémon when you are Underwater having used the HM move Dive in Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald. In later games, the Dive Ball is more effective on Pokémon who are found in the water while Surfing or Fishing. When Underwater, Surfing or Fishing, the Capture Rate of the Dive Ball is 3.5. At all other times, it is 1.” At this point, Kyogre seems out of the mix, but Lugia is still questionable.

@Darkz: For the sake of argument, in ORAS, Kyogre is found swimming in a body of water in an underground cave, while you need Surf and Dive to access Lugia in an underwater portal. Also, to restate Scarlet, I would like a credible source, as most sources that I have looked at have been vague and/or confusing.

The description for the dive ball is, "A somewhat different Poké Ball that is more effective when catching Pokémon in or on the water." So for Kyogre that would be a big ol YES but for lugia it depends on where it spawns I'm not really sure but if you encounter lugia and there is water below it, the dive ball should work.

Note I don't have irrefutable evidence to back this up.

- Kyogre isn't caught while surfing, fishing, or underwater. It's much more likely that the Cave of Origin is tagged as a cave (hence Dusk Balls get a boost) instead of anything the Dive Ball applies to.
- According to https://www.serebii.net/omegarubyalphasapphire/legendary.shtml , Lugia's met location is Sea Mauville. It's entirely probable that Dive Balls apply in this instance --- it's caught under the water.
