Does the "Shiny Pokemon Battled" number increase when you evolve a Pokemon?

I know for sure that I only found 3 shinies: Shroomish, Litleo and Iron Valiant. But it says I battled 4 shinies in my profile, but I did evolve my Shroomish into Breloom

I evolved a Shiny Snorunt just now and went from 3 to 4. So yes, it does increase from Evolution.

Note: It only counts 1 Shiny per species. I have 3 Noiverns, 2 Vaporeons, 1 Snorunt & 1 Glalie and it counted them all as 4 Shinies Battled.
