Jynx (F) @ Leftovers

Role: Rain Tank
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Def / 30 SpA / 30 SpD
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Water] / Ice Beam
- Calm Mind
- Lovely Kiss
- Psyshock

Ugh.. This Thing's defense is hard to get up.

Hidden Power [Water] is great in the rain, and Calm Mind makes for some special bulk, Lovely Kiss makes your opponent go nighty night, and Psyshock gets some STAB into the mix.
EDIT: I now run Ice Beam > HP Water for several reasons, but mostly Dragonite. I've found several places where Ice Beam is generally better coverage. Plus.. It's still more powerful than HP Water in or out of rain.

Gen 8 ZU

Jynx @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

  • Lovely Kiss
  • Nasty Plot
  • Ice Beam
  • Psyshock

The order of the moves matters. First off, Jynx comes up to some random Pokemon and uses Lovely Kiss. Now, this Kiss isn't lovely, no, not at all. Jynx's kiss (and Jynx itself) strikes so much fear into the unfortunate victim's heart that it passes out. Jynx uses Nasty Plot to think of a devilish plan to rob the victim (and to boost SpA) while the other Pokemon sleeps. The enlightened Jynx then uses STAB Ice Beam on the enemy, or Nasty Plot to devise a plan even more evil. STAB Psyshock is there to torture the victim, even Special walls. It uses the psychic energy + the shock effect to force the victim to talk.

Gen V

Jynx (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
Timid Nature
EVs: 252 SpA / 68 SpD / 188 Spe
- Lovely Kiss
- Ice Beam
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock

Put the foe to sleep and then get in Nasty Plot boosts. Ice Beam and Psyshock are STAB. Dream Eater is unreliable as the foe can wake up at any moment, so Psyshock is used instead. Life Orb lets you deal more damage, mainly to be used when you can't get in any Nasty Plot boosts. Dry Skin is nice, especially if you are in the Rain. If not, it still gives you Water type immunity. The EVs give you good enough Speed and high enough Special Attack, as well as some Special Defense.

Jynx @ Big Root
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 126 HP / 252 SpA / 132 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draining Kiss
- Sweet Kiss
- Lovely Kiss / Psychic / Ice Beam
- Attract

This is the ultimate frosty annoyer. I have used this set, I have won with this set, and let me tell you it works like a charm. Attract and Sweet Kiss are a must have, they decrease the chance of the opponent attacking to only 25% (I wish Jynx could learn Thunder Wave as well, to make the chance 12.5% but alas it doesn't). Lovely Kiss can be substituted with Psychic or Ice Beam, and I tend to go with Ice Beam because I don't like the Sleep condition and it covers more types. Anyway, use both Attract and Sweet Kiss (or just Sweet Kiss if the opponent is female) and then spam Draining Kiss. Draining Kiss recovers more than half of the damage done, and with the Big Root it recovers quite a bit more.

Gen 7 ZU
Jynx (F) @ Normalium Z
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lovely Kiss
- Nasty Plot
- Focus Blast
- Ice Beam / Psyshock

Normalium Z is so you can use Z-Lovely Kiss, which raises your speed and can put the opponent to sleep if it lands. Nasty Plot is to setup while the opponent is asleep. Focus Blast is to deal with steel, rock, and dark types. You can use Ice Beam for ice STAB, or Psyshock for psychic STAB that hits special walls.

Gen 8 BDSP NU

Jynx (F) @ Leftovers / Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Substitute / Lovely Kiss / Focus Blast
- Nasty Plot / Lovely Kiss

This set is mainly a Substitute + Nasty Plot / Lovely Kiss one, but can serve as a Nasty Plot + 3 Attacks set as well. Ice Beam and Psychic are powerful STAB moves that most of the tier don't enjoy switching into since not many Pokemon resist Jynx's STAB moves. Substitute lets you take advantage of the switches you force. Nasty Plot boosts your Special Attack so you can do more damage to opposing Pokemon. Lovely Kiss can be used either with Substitute or Nasty Plot, as Lovely Kiss is useful for putting one of your checks to sleep. Focus Blast is an option if you choose Nasty Plot as the 4th moveslot if you want to hit Wormadam-Trash for neutral damage. Leftovers is used on Substitute variants for HP recovery. Never-Melt Ice can be used on Lovely Kiss + Nasty Plot variants to give Ice Beam a little more power.

Since the set has a few variants, I'll summarize what each set is supposed to accomplish.

Substitute + Nasty Plot: Use Substitute on a passive Pokemon or when you force a switch, then use Nasty Plot to boost your Special Attack, and you can spam your STAB moves.

Substitute + Lovely Kiss: Use Lovely Kiss to put a check to sleep. Use Substitute to take advantage of the forced switch, then start spamming your STAB moves.

Lovely Kiss + Nasty Plot: Use Lovely Kiss to put a check to sleep. Use Nasty Plot to take advantage of the forced switch, then start spamming your STAB moves.

Focus Blast + Nasty Plot: A simple Nasty Plot + 3 Attacks set. Plot up, then use your boosted attacking moves.

Basically in BDSP NU, Jynx is not only demonic appearance wise, but also competitive wise, especially if you have Lovely Kiss.

Jynx is a very good Pokemon and one of its uses is a great Water type switch-in/killer. Since most Water types these days have at least 1 Water move and some Ice move to protect it from Grass types, this gives Jynx the opportunity to power up.

Water Destroyer/Sweeper Jynx

Jynx @ Leftovers
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Nasty Plot
- Energy Ball / Grass Knot

  • Ice Beam- High power STAB
  • Psyshock- STAB and helps when dealing with special walls
  • Nasty Plot- boost your Special Attack
  • Energy Ball/Grass Knot- when you're done powering up while facing Water types, kill them

Jynx @ Big Root / Leftovers
Ability: Oblivious / Forewarn / Dry Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Encore / Protect
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Draining Kiss

Timid Jynx is pretty solid ngl. Gets a pretty good speed and it's a good special attacker. Protect or Encore since y'all know what it does. Draining Kiss of course for a nice HP recovery move.

Jynx @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball

This is a Hyper Offense Jynx. Scarf makes it Speedy, and it already has good SpAtk further boosted by modest nature.
