I know that no Pokemon with Libero/Protean can learn Burn Up, but if you, say, hacked the ability Libero onto a Moltres with Burn Up, how would the ability react to the move? Would the Moltres turn into a pure Fire type, and then become typeless due to losing the Fire type from the moves added effect? Would the move also become infinitely re-usable due to Libero turning the Pokemon using Burn Up into a pure Fire type before using the move, or would it not be able to do so?

Once again, I request you don't question my curiousity.

"A Pokémon with Protean cannot successfully use Burn Up unless it already is Fire-type; otherwise, Burn Up will fail and Protean will not activate."

From Bulbapedia. Not sure how it interacts with Libero.
i don't know, that is a good question. too bad burn up isn't a gen 6 move, so I can't do any burn up, protean Pokemon on Pokemon showdown pure hackmons.
Ah, I see. I assume its the same case for Libero, as their affects are nearly identical.
Please don't answer unless you have a definitive answer to the question.

Moltres would become pure Fire type and then become only ??? type. A non-Fire type Pokemon would fail to use Burn Up. The results were the same with Libero and Protean.
