Hello folks, I'm looking for some suggestions / insights into the current meta for competitive 3v3 battles in BDSP. This could info about the most defining Pokemon and strategies in the meta, how they interact, and what you can do while teambuilding to address all of the above. General tips and tricks for the format are also welcome.

I think this is more of a discussion question and not something that can ever be completely answered. You'll probably get better answers if you ask here: https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/bdsp-3v3-singles-bss.3695092/
Yeah wasn't sure if this would be the best place but figured I'd give it try.  Also posted on reddit, got some helpful answers I may include here for others looking.  Thanks for this resource
In my opinion this isn't a "discussion" question, as it asks for the best Pokémon, strategies, teams, etc., basically what the metagame is looking like right now. That isn't subject to discussion; there's a certain viability ceiling for every Pokémon and the metagame as a whole. I agree that, if this is answered, it would be required to get updated every time a major meta shift happens, which is extremely common right now because BDSP metagames are fairly new. But an answer in accordance to what are the *current* tier trend is would be good enough for the OP, thus resolving the question. This is almost on the wrong side of 1.4.3 and 1.7, but is not extremely vague/unclear and isn't endless as the meta would stabilise in a short time.
A similar question was asked for Pure Hackmons. It was vague at first because of the lack of good players (in PokéBase) + the initial confusion around the question, but it was resolved eventually. It would need fixing in some time because the meta has shifted a lot (ladder received a lot of positive response in 2021's closing), and I'm ready to do that soon. So if someone is well versed with BDSP 3v3, in my opinion this doesn't cross the rules.

I'm going to edit this thread to move it closer to the PH thread you linked. Example teams and sets do get iffy with rule 1.7, so I think it's best to keep this focused on a metagame overview, which suits this platform better.
Outside of that, these questions are great and you're all very welcome to answer.

You didn't ask on Smogon, so I asked for you.

Personally, I feel like Focus Sash Technician Breloom is on nearly every team. You should always have a strategy in place for dealing with Breloom. Blaziken has almost zero drawback as a lead Pokemon. You can scout for choice items with protect and you can U-turn out for massive damage on the likes of Latios. Having a strong water type Pokemon is farily important in this meta, You could start your team building process by selecting which water type you would like to run and then build the rest of your team around it. I believe Suicune, Rotom-W, Gyarados, Cloyster and Azumarill and are all fine choices. Honestly if you go through the Great tier list on this page and build a team with any six, then it's probably going to perform quite well.
Another thing to be wary of is baton passing and moody strats. You want to have some way of shutting them down such as Ghost with curse/ perish song/ whirlwind etc.
