Origin
Infernape appears to be based on a monkey. The gold elements in its design, as well as its Japanese name, may be linked to Son Goku, the Japanese interpretation of the character Sun Wukong. This what I got from Bulbapedia's page on Infernape. I personally believe in the Hanuman theory, as well, I'm an Indian and Infernape looks strikingly similar to Hanuman and its typing is also like that (One legend says that Hanuman ate the Sun for a snack).
