How many pixels are in a Pokemon Sprite?

I prefer Gen 1-5 for the answer, so can somebody help?

Each Pokemon sprite has a different amount of pixels and resolution, as far as I'm aware.

I'm sure that Gens 3 and 4 are 64x64. Maybe even Gen 5 as well but I doubt it

The icons that you're talking about are 32x32 pixels square.

The larger sprites that you see in battle vary by game. In Gen 4-5 they are 96x96 pixels while in ORAS the images in the Pokedex are 120x120.(thanks pokemaster)
