Because it can't learn S-dance your likely to use Hone claws any way so it is mainly giving you an extra boost and a possible maximum of a 7 stage attack boost! And it complements Stone edge if he carries it.

Well, it can be useful. I'd personally like abuse infinite accuracy moves like Aerial ace with it. (sadly, not many pokemon with the ability have any worthwhile moves to use it with) Durant could be useful for the hone claws boost, but there's not way he's gonna max out his attack like that. With his special defense, he can be done away with pretty quickly. In addition to his fire weakness, the foe is gonna send in something to make quick work of him. He's gonna take a bit of damage while setting up, so you might as well take advantage of Swarm.

I planned a Durant with Entrainment so the opponent's ability becomes hustle. Other than that, Arial Ace, Faint Attack and X-Scissor.

So the strategy is to give your opponent your ability and then attack with powered-up moves that don't miss
