In Generation 8, Regigigas is now UU, last gen it was Untiered. However, the meta is still changing fast, and when it finally cools down, Regigigas might be back in ZU. So, is it finally viable now?

It still has Slow Start, which is one of, if not the worst ability.
It got Protect this gen I believe, which means it can stall the first five turns. Of course, you can always run an Entrainment strategy.
Protect means it's only bad for 2 turns every time it's switched in and not 5 :).

It's still pretty bad. I don't know for sure but it's probably in UU for gimmicks and not because it's consistently actually good.
Protect, after several turns will be likely to fail. Worry Seeding Regigigas will be good.
It's probably only being used that much because of people (like me) making all-Regi teams. Which aren't good anyway
It might be better in Doubles because of Neutralizing Gas Weezing-Galar.
It probably wont go to untiered again, but won't be in ou(or uu possibly), as its more a gimmick and its also unreliable, as well as having to redo it when switching.
I've seen people run special sets lmao
Still bad though it's too slow to use substitute (if it can)

I feel bad for regigigas, it has 9/10 stats and movepool. It's not even one of the 680 BST legendaries, yet it gets a ability worse than drought drizzle multiscale regenerator interpred sword etc sad xD
Doubt it. I'm pretty sure uu has it's own mons of phazers. If Regigigas is in uu, then it's probably just gonna be phazed out by something like Skarmory
no, just because it is in uu doesnt mean anything. it will 100% drop to the bottom tiers if you give it time

I'd say it's a little bit viable. The one place I've seen it is in an OU Doubles on Showdown where the guy used Protect, then switched Slow Start with a Trevenant's Frisk. The thing proceeded to destroy half my team and I lost. I think there is some merit to this strategy, but if Trevenant gets OHKO'd then you completely wasted a turn.

It could be great or it could plummet straight back to ZU, who knows?
