What would happen if I caught a legendary in a dynamax adventure but didn’t choose to keep it?

At the end of a dynamax adventure, you, of course, get a chance at catching a legendary Pokémon. But, you can only keep 1 Pokémon caught during the dynamax adventure. If I were to catch the legendary but keep another Pokémon I found, could I find the legendary and catch it again? Would it have the same IVs and shininess and all that?

If you fail to defeat or catch a Legendary Pokemon in the Adventure, you can actually try to challenge that same Pokemon again later.

And as for the IV's and Shininess, that is random so no.
