Should I use Gigalith or Excadrill for an in-game playthrough of Sword?

I just caught a Drilbur in my Pokemon Sword. I also have a Roggenrola. I wanted to know which is better.

Here's why:

It's much faster (88) than Gigalith (25), while having the same Attack stat at 135.
It has dual typing as Ground/Steel so you can hit more types, but you'll really use it mostly for Ground. It gets Dig early on at level 34, and then Earthquake at 52 (or earlier if you get the TR).
It has fewer weaknesses (4) and plenty of resistances (8) and 2 immunities, whereas Gigalith has 5 weaknesses, only 4 resistances and 0 immunities.
You don't need to trade to get it, all you have to do is level up.
