Is it best to use Ring Target with Trick?

I Think I know how to use ring target? I use Ring Target & while using Kecleon & Trick I Shadow Sneaked a Snorlax into fainting , Is this the correct use for it I have no idea....

This is for competitive, right? What format?
In most formats, I'm pretty sure ring targets are useless. It's better to teach different types of attacks to each Pokemon so they can hit any opponent while using a better item. For example, Kecleon can hit Snorlax by using drain punch.

Yes. This is the correct way to use a target ring. However you just shouldn’t use a ring target anyways.

However, you could use a ring target to get Snorlax using Giga impact to faint a destiny bond using Gengar. That’s about all.
