I'm still confused why Cilan is scared of Purrloins, I'm just so curious.
It’s officially unknown in the anime, and is never clearly answered. The best you’ll get is that Cilan states that one did something terrible to him, it’s also implied that iris and Ash know (have been told), but it’s never explained in detail.
