Specifically, I'm asking if abilities such as Strong Jaw or Tough Claws would affect a Z-move performed using a move affected by it. For example, a Bruxish with Strong Jaw knows Crunch and is holding a Darkinium Z. Does the power boost that Strong Jaw would normally give Crunch apply if you use the Z crystal to perform Black Hole Eclipse?

Damaging Z-Moves do not inherit any other properties from the original move, so have neutral priority and do not have the additional effects of the base move.

Z-Moves cannot be boosted by Strong Jaw, Iron Fist, and like abilities; however, they can be effected by Tough Claws if they make Contact, such as the Z-Moves Catastropika, Pulverizing Pancake, Malicious Moonsault, Let's Snuggle Forever, Searing Sunraze Smash, and Soul Stealing 7-Star Strike. However, no Pokémon that can use these Z-Moves can have Tough Claws unless a Move such as Entrainment, Role Play, and or Skill Swap is utilized. :P

Thanks! I actually got Tough Claws and Iron Fist confused with each other somehow, but I'm glad I did since I didn't know that those Z-moves counted as contact. Just to make absolutely clear, that means that Z-moves have no relation to the moves they were aside from type, power, and damage category, but can have their own properties that would allow them to be affected by abilities.
