Will there be a another generation of Pokemon?

I know this seems like a bothersome question, but, since the two mythical Pokemon has been introduced, Meltan and it's 400 evolved form, Melmetal. I would like to know. If this happens, then does that means that there will be a next generation of Pokémons?

Of course, just not atm, but in the near future.

Let’s Go Pikachu will not be generation 8. This was confirmed in multiple interviews. Core generation 8 games will release sometime, (most likely on switch) but not for at least 1-3 years.
