Should I use exclusive Z-Moves or standard Z-Moves?

Exclusive Z-moves. Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom, for example, has more BP than Never-ending Nightmare, so there’s really no reason to use Ghostium-Z over Lunalium-Z.

Some Pokemon-specific Z-moves, especially pulverizing pancake and guardian of Alola, are pretty useless.

Yeah, but Pulverizing Pancake is still better than just pairing Giga Impact with Normalium-Z. I’m pretty sure all this question was asking is whether to use a standard or exclusive Z-crystal on the same move.
