Is gender determined before the egg is recieved?

Question

I know shininess is determined before you receive a Pokemon egg. However, I don't know if the gender is, as I have reset the shiny and gotten the same gender and nature at least twice in a row. This is in Ultra Sun.

The Gender of a Pokémon is already in the egg as soon as you are called to receive it.
