How do you change the language in Pokemon mystery dungeon blue?

my mom (this question is proof english was NOT my first language) bought Pokemon mystery dungeon in paris. so it was in french. but I want it english. how do I change it?

That seems to be the case, I just checked my copy and could not find such a setting anywhere.

Like all games prior to Gen VI, there is no language select option in the games. The language is locked depending on whatever region you got it from. So, better start learning some French.
