Will Gardevoir's ability change when it mega evolves if it knows Trace?

Trace copies the opponent's ability, so if it Mega evolves, does it retain the ability it traced, or does it change to Pixilate?

It changes to Pixilate upon Mega Evolving even after it Traces an ability.

Garde copied Hustle, but when it used facade upon evolving the move was resisted by Nidorina (a poison type), indicating that it became a fairy type move via Pixilate
