PokéBase - Pokémon Q&A

Hello All,

I am simply wondering what the name of this soundtrack/score is. It's first occurrence is in the very first episode of Pokemon (see this video and timestamp, it starts at 19:24: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CvBNRxpRqU&feature=youtu.be&t=1164).

It appears throughout the endings of episodes in Seasons 1-6 (Kanto, Orange Islands, and Johto).

This has sort of become an "internet white whale" for me, as I've been looking for this song for a few years now.

Thank you for your assistance!

Most music that plays in a(n) film/episode is simply used as an instrumental for that particular purpose. It's quite rare to find instrumentals like these with names and official audio and whatnot. If you haven't found it by now, I doubt it has a name, let alone a good audio.
Companies will often pay small amounts of money for unlisted music from small artists. These pieces of music aren't really 'songs' or 'score'. just unlisted music. This happens a lot. The production company behind the episode may have just gone to a tiny small time artist or an organisation that distributes unlicensed music and said 'hey we're gonna pay you a little money and we're gonna use this music and that's it. Kthnxbye'

Alternatively the music could have been created by the studio's inhouse production, and therefore is just part of the company as opposed to a separate licensed score. I'm not very good at explaining this one but whatever.

After looking through the OST of the first season, I could not find a piece similar to this, so it is likely to be a one off music piece that was never part of the soundtrack.

Hope I helped!
