How Do I Use Leftovers in Wifi Battles | Pokemon X & Y?

So basically, I gave the leftovers to my Pokemon, but it doesn't automatically heal... This is probably the most noob like question, but keep in mind I'm actually really good. Like, I usually win, just I see this and don't know how to use them like Haydunn does or other wifi battlers.

Further information would be useful? What Pokemon are you using and what is the scenario? This could happen for any number of reasons. For example, your Pokemon could have Klutz (ignores held items), it could've had its item removed or changed by other Pokemon in battle, or it could be as simple as forgetting to equip the item.

The Leftovers should automatically heal the Pokemon that's holding the Leftovers. If your Pokemon isn't automatically healing, make sure that it is holding Leftovers and not a different item.
