Will this breed work ?

So breeding dream world abilities from males wont work, you have to get a female dream world ability pokemon to breed the pokemon with the ability.

So I thought if I take my male squirtle (DW ability) and breed it with a dream world ditto, will the born pokemon have the fathers ability or will it be normal?

Yes, Ditto counts as the male in that situation. So a male Squirtle with Rain Dish, breeding with a Ditto, has a 40% chance of the resulting Squirtle also having Rain Dish.
