What happens when you attack May's Pokemon in a double battle?

In ORAS, I just finished doing a double battle against a Team Magma Grunt, and Team Magma Admin Tabitha, and I fought both of them at the same time, but May was fighting with me. Since we were on the same side, I needed to attack the Team Magma Pokemon, but I really wanted to see what would happen if I attacked May's Pokemon. I never did attack hers, but I would like to know what would have happened if I did.

It is possible to attack and KO a Double Battle partner's Pokémon, no matter who they are.

Source: I've done it just to prove I could solo the opposition.
