I'm confident they're asking if releasing an egg's parents will remove the chance of the baby being Shiny. You can answer this based on that assumption. Obviously, Masuda method is a factor here.

There's an option to leave the egg with the Day-Care when you ask to pick it up. It will then vanish forever. I think that's what the question means.
