Is it possible to trade from any gen to another?

I want to know if in some series of trades I could get a Gen 1 Pokemon to Gen 6? It does not have to be direct, but is there a way?

Sorry, this is not possible.

Here is why:

Gen 1 can trade to Gen 2

Gen 2 can trade to Gen 1

Gen 2 cannot trade with anything else.

Here's a handy chart(?) that I found:

↑↓ Both directions
Generation 2 (Gold/Silver/Crystal)
X Trade impossible
Generation 3 (Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen)
↓ One-way only
Generation 4 (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver)
↓ One-way only, no items
Generation 5 (Black/White)
↓ One-way only, no items
Pokémon Bank
↑↓ Both directions
Generation 6 (and later) (X/Y)

So unfortunately any Gen 1 Pokémon can only get to Gen 2, no further.

But if your asking this to complete the pokedex, as you can see all gens are transferable.
