National Pokedex - Pokémon White.

Question

In Pokemon White, considering you can't go to other regions, does this mean you can't get Pikachu or any other original like Bulbasaur and Squirtle? And if not, what is the best Pokémon game to purchase in your opinions to be able to do this?

I've been wondering this for a while now, it would be helpful if I could have some answers, thank you.

No, you can get several Pokemon from other Regions in Pokemon White like Metang and Altaria from Hoenn. The best game to get the most Pokemon in my opinion is HG/SS because you can get one starter from Hoenn, Kanto, and Johto. Also, the Safari Zone can get you Pokemon from other regions and can Migrate. But don't forget that you can Migrate Pokemon from D/P/Pt and HG/SS into Black/White. You need two DS' for that to happen. Hope this helps...

Yeah, I just had a look and it said that you can't get into other regions; how DO you get into other regions if you know? I'm just debating whether to get a DS Lite (they're cheapish now) to transfer Pokémon etc and mainly because I'll be able to play the gameboy games like Fire Red and Leaf Green. I already had HG so maybe I'll invest in Soul Silver. Also, the other Pokémon games like Pokémon Ranger, are those games just like HG/SS B/W etc? Or different?  Yeah, it helped a lot thanks.

You cant go to other regions in B/W. You can go to 2 regions in HG/SS which Are Kanto and Johto. Get a DS Lite just do can trade Pokemon which is useful in B/W.  also you can migrate from Gen 3 games which is very useful. So get a DS lite.

Okay thank you, what about the Pokémon Ranger and other games like that? Do you know what they're like? Also, would Pokémon would be best to purchase which has the most things to do on it? For example the most places to go/visit, HG/SS?

Pokemon Ranger will only get you Deoxys and Manaphy which are rare Pokemon, but only those two. HG/SS will masively fill your Pokedex and I reccomend getting Platinum and Emerald to fill your Pokedex even more. You can fill The Hoenn and Sinnoh region Pokemon with those 2 games. Hope this helps...

Nope, you cant go to other regions in Platinum. In my Opinion,.Pokemon Heartgold/SoulSilver is the best in your catagory

You have to Transfer them by using 2 DS's from Lower versions.
