I just think my games hates me when it comes to confusion but is there any exact percentages in if the Pokemon will hurt itself?

The confused condition causes a Pokémon to hurt itself in its confusion 50% of the time. The damage is done as if the Pokémon attacked itself with a 40-power typeless physical attack.
Confusion wears off after 1-4 attacking turns.

If you switch a Pokemon out, then back into battle, it will no longer be confused.

If your Pokemon is confused, it will hit itself 50% of the time.

And if you think your game hates you when an attack misses or hurts itself while confused, well... you're not alone ;-)

3 mins though :P
I always had an issue with confusion with Pokémon too. I let them go through the confusion process until they're no longer confused.

As of gen 7, there is a 33.33...% (1/3) chance of your Pokémon hitting itself in confusion.
