Does string shot or another bug/ghost/dark status move activate Rattled?

Question

i really want a rattled whismur But almost every Pokemon I have will OHKO a whismur and the ones that wont cant hold up to 5 attacks without me restoring their HP

No it doesn't.

I actually thought it did but having tested this out on Pokémon Showdown I found out that it's only Bug, Dark and Ghost attacking moves that activate Rattled.

Rattled raises the user's Speed stat one stage when hit by a Bug-, Dark-, or Ghost-type move.

it have to be an attack, so bulbapedia has just wrong information.
