this question has been bugging me since I learned about egg moves. If you bred a cheat ditto knowing a move (example:twister) that can be bred onto a Pokemon (eg:snivy) and bred the cheat ditto with a female of the desired Pokemon, would the hatchling come out knowing the desired move? just wondering.

No, only male Pokemon can pass down egg moves as ditto is gender less it can't pass egg moves down.

EDIT: Then again, if you're gonna use action replay get a cheat ditto just create a cheat snivy with twister and breed it as an egg move to get a 'legit' snivy.

Wrong.
X & Y allows you to do that. Or else Belly Drum Azumarill would not exist.
Mew is Pokemon encyclopedia.

"If either parent (only the father prior to Generation VI) knows any specific Egg moves that the baby can learn, the baby will inherit the move."

Anyway, the point still stands, ditto is genderless and therefore can't pass down egg moves. #tatzruud
