Hello everyone,

In Leaf Green, I have a save file that I have put in quite a bit of time in. I've gotten a few badges, and I'm feeling pretty good about my progress. However, I have a friend who has not played Leaf Green, and I was thinking about letting him borrow it. This is where my dilemma is. If I let my friend play, (he wants to start a new game) will his progress overwrite mine if he saves his game? If so, is there any other way to get my friend to enjoy this amazing game?

No, that won't delete your save file. It will start a new game, but you will not be able to save the game. You'd cannot have two separate save files.

There is no way for your friend to play a new file without you having to delete your existing file. If you want to delete your file, hold down the Up, B and L buttons at the same time and select 'yes' when the games asks you if you want to delete your file.

The only way that you can both play the game without you losing your save file is for your friend to get their own copy of the game.

I was under the impression that the Up, B and L button function only occured in the later games? And that in the previous games you just deleted it by starting a new game and saving?
No, I've delete my files in Gen 3 games with that combination before.
oh well the second part then :3

Yes. Only one save file can be there at the same time, so your save file will be overwritten if he decides to start a new game and save that. This has happened with all of the Pokemon games, with only one file allowed. They should really increase that limit.

In regards to how you could let him enjoy Pokemon LeafGreen by best advice would be to tell him to get a ROM of it - so basically, download an Emulator like no$gba and a Pokemon LeafGreen ROM off the internet (Just google it, it's everywhere) and he'll be set to play. On the computer. :P
