Bugcatching contest in Heartgold dosn't work?

Question

I tried to get a Syther. My Pokemon fainted. Blah blah blah... I switched the time and date.... still dosn't work..... have my 3ds in game waiting for the time to pass so it could reset? Scizor is one of my team members and my favorite Pokemon. Help!

You can't do it more than twice in a certain time period, even if you change the time and date because the game recognizes it
