Question about Pokemon Amie?

I've progressed in the game to where I'm at the first gym, and I'd just like to know how I can access Pokemon Amie? I've looked it up and nothing says how you get it or how you can access it. Can someone explain to me how and where I can use Pokemon Amie? Ty

Pretty sure you have access to it the entire game.

To access it, you can use the L and R button on your 3DS which go left and right until you find Pokemon Amie on the bottom screen. Alternatively, you can just use the arrows on the corners of the bottom screen. Once you see Pokemon Amie, click it and you'll get a little tutorial on how to use it.
