How does passing Hidden Abilities work now?

Question

Apparently, male Pokémon can now pass on their Hidden Abilities to their offspring. Does this mean, for example, a male Chlorophyll Bulbasaur could breed with a female Tangela and get a Tangela with Regenrator? Or is it restricted to evolutionary lines?

You can pass abilities with both genders now, but they still have to be of the same evolution line
