Is there any way to get all of the starters in X & Y without trading?

There might be a solution in the Friend Safari. While I cannot say this is definite yet (as the list of FS PKMN is still being developed and I haven't progressed to that point myself), it might be the only way, provided that you get friends who have the starters you don't have.

This is actually true, you can catch the starter pokemon in the Friend Safari.

but you get one of the originals & new ones in the beginning, and one of your game friends gives you a baby of hers when you beat the elite 4, so that's 3 out of the 6 from the game.

Also I know there were some wifi dongles for the older versions or maybe you could connect through your pc with a cable idk but something to look into if you don't get a new ds for xmas

Don't know about trading yet, but I heard there was a way to migrate them onto your ds then switch games and load them on xy.  Also once u get internet I know you can sign up for the pokemon cloud storage trial, and switch between games.  So far I have been making random friends to get lots of pokes in my safari friend park where I just caught  a feraligator, and some other older goodies I haven't seen elsewhere.  Going to see If i can complete the pokedex without trading, but depends on whether legendaries will appear in the friend park.(i doubt it but well see)

After beating the Elite Four, you can trade any of your pokémon for the starter that was chosen by your rival Shauna. I don't think you can get the other starter.
