One time I was looking through Shuckles moves and found Power Split. After reading the description I went off to attack form Deoxys to see where it could get my base stat total. What I found blew me away.
When Shuckle uses Power Split on attack form Deoxys their attacking stats become 95. When the two stats are put together you get 190. Then you get to add 460 from Shuckle's defenses bringing the total to 650. Add in a 20 for HP and you get 670. And if you're in a single battle where Trick Room was used Shuckle and the Deoxys pretty much switch speeds.
Shuckle can now add 150 for his speed stat. This perfect storm of conditions has brought Shuckle's base stat total to 820. That's right a full 100 more than Arceus.
Where's your god now?
Seriously though did anybody notice this before me?

LMFAo!
You still can't add 150 for his speed stat :P
True, it just makes slower Pokemon go first. :P
I'm really tempted to downvote just because of the thought that Shuckle could be better than Arceus :P
So in a double battle with Trick Room if Arceus was out it would pretty much eliminate their speed stats and sending Shuckle's stats (for the moment) above Arceus's. either way Shuckle would still have better stats.
Ugh... It's more than just BST. It stat spread, movepool, abilities, ect.
Ninjask is faster than Arceus! Glaceon has More Sp.Atk, does that make them bter?

Hey Guys! (and gals) New here to Pokemon, eh hem, actually new as in first time with a Pokemondb.net with a new account, and I do have to say my piece as shuckle is my lifeblood, back in the good old days of gold and silver (back when I was 6) I had just got the brand new silver version (before they made crystal version) after already beating red, blue and yellow special pikachu edition...I popped in the game, began farming (for xp) and later came across my first shuckle (the free water rock Pokemon from a kid on an island I called it...strange phrasing ik) Sadly when I read his description my heart sank as it said bug rock and I went HOW??? then I noticed shuckle immediately had high defense and sp.defense as well as weak attack/attacks, but with great potential. I soon learned yes, a toxic learned shuckle back then was like making charazard use bide and then charazard going, "nah, I think I'll just go ahead and attack with hyper beam after storing all your damagex2 with bide, now ima +150pow instead of waiting till next turn regardless of my code and win"...which I imagined as effing awesome and OP! However, all stat boosts were limited! perma and irreversable but Now since X and Y versions introduced the canny little OP training system of Super Training! One now has complete control over what they want bonus and no bonus...no more tossing of the Pokemon until desired results are reached, now there is a reset of stat bonuses! Perfect for breeders and this is where our little star Shuckle comes to the spot light, as we can see from shuckle, a tank made of yellowish wormlike tentacle something with a turtle shell resembling a sea creature (ironic isn't is? and somehow is a bug and not water) anyways, this slow wall of awesomeness (WHO ISN'T WATER TYPE FOR SOME REASON!!!) can be quite fearsome when you take advantage of his high defenses. Knowing he has a big water weakness(AGAIN, SHOULD BE WATER TYPE ANYWAYS! THE EFFING RED SHELL WITH HOLES CONCEPT IS ALL WATER BASED!!!), the first thing to do is find a nature that ups his sp. def and lowers his speed (cause his speed is so low it won't make a difference at this point) And work soul-ly on defense to max and sp.def to max then sort the rest into whatever you deem needed like hp...basically hp since his atk/sp.atk suck on an equal level of sucking-ness, it wont help you in the long run and make sure he has sturdy and holds Something to either heal him or make him harder to hit. Wallah! PERFECTIMUNGO! Next is the moves which all relies on YOUZZZZZ...seeing as the defensive strategy(s) is/are what shuckle is best at, your best moves of choice are (According to my personal opinion) as followed:
Toxic+facade, power swap, trick room (if you still think his speeds gonna help you...ps it won't!!!) rollout, withdraw, rockslide, flash and protect...stuff like that.
Personally trick room only solves his speed prob, not so wise in a sense simply because...
Shuckle is first and foremost the master at defensive stance, aka the slowgod (whom I have deemed as he's one of thee slowest, sorry slowking...heh heh) with lack of an offense, he's best to have repetitive and turn based dmg attacks but you can turn any offensive threat into an offensive rush, take power split and bide, normally when applied in said order can result in lots of powerx2 so say you got him to 160atk and your beefy opponent has eh 620,thats about 780 after power swap, yeah? No? Don't care i'm calculating this! and now add a successfully timed bide, thats around 1560 give or take the odds! at most and with a critical hit?? 3120??? pretty much breaks the game either way and deals out so much effing damage depending on the Pokemon target. though not very effective, is still pretty much 999dmg LOL not to mention any temporary stat boosts/item boosts and if its super effective, its like how I say it, if your tank is too slow, add more cannon, gets the job done slowly and easily in many situations, sustain tons of damage then dish out stupidly strong attacks, as for another method, I like to call it the troll n toxic flash, mix toxic, flash, protect and withdraw and you have an instant trump card, though weak against taunt like attacks and certain types of enemies, he provides the balls of poisoning your opponents badly, lowering their chance to hit, blocking random attacks and turn charge attacks, and increasing defense even further on a base of making everything deal 1-2 digits and I'm talkin low double digits like 11, or 14. Or replace withdraw with some beef like infestation or rock slide or something... So to the Question proposed? No, he is not the strongest, as for weakest well...Not even close, he's an excellent and horrifyingly powerful trump card when used at the right time and place against the right Pokemon(z) and if you train and use him riiiiiiiiight with the riiiiiiiiiiiiiight nature, ability, item, stats, and moves to your strategy...you can ultimately sway the battle into your fingertips given the right luck with ofcourse shuckle by your side poking his head out proudly through his red somehow non-aquatic water sea urchin-er based shell thingy...that looks like he's water rock based at first glance because its where the idea of his shell came from and every man, woman, child, dog, bird, plane and pepple know this yet noones fixed it cause...noone knows why not to... Anyways, as for why not many people use shuckle is mostly to do with the incredibly tedious idea of sending out a slowgod tank made of rocky chitin, firing stuffed animals hoping it'll do 20+...but then again, I want that kind of tank :3. Though if you're looking for strongest Pokemon of all? Shuckle is not thee, but ah h3lls! Kudos to Shuckle everyone, may the johto region live forever in our hearts...and your game boy color cartridges :3 gold, silver, crystal FTW!!! And most importantly?...SHUCKLE!!!

Despite this, Trick Room will not remain forever and even with such a high base attack, he will not be KOing that many Pokemon and as a result it would be killed of in return. The only reason it would actually have such a high base stat would be because of it's improved offensive presence. In theory this is very bluffing but the chances are really low that it would be successful and still makes Shuckle nothing close to the most powerful Pokemon for stats can look appealing but you are nothing with a Pokemon with such unbalanced stats as Shuckle.
There are many Pokemon that could even cripple it. Since Shuckle is a very predictable Pokemon and always carries non-damaging moves, it is very easy to stop it. One taunt and Shuckle is shut down. Say it would still succeed in this, any Prankster Pokemon could shut it down with a status ailment in Trick Room or not. So the answer is No.

Hell Naw > No. Js.
Well, Power Trick is actually what you are thinking of, Power Split does nothing to the defenses, just the attacking stats. But I do agree with no, though, for my own reasons. :P
kk, ty edited. Though the conclusion remains the same.
And I think the effects would go away the moment I faint Deoxys or it switches out. Still it would be effective if something like Stealth Rocks was in place since Shuckle can use it to ruin just about everything with good attacks and force them to switch out or faint. Shuckle might not have the moves to back it up but now we all know that he has had the largest stats ever since he obtained Power Split.
That typo of "Suckle" made me LOL. :D. Or is it not a typo???
Deoxys is a dangerous Pokemon and carries Taunt 9 out of the 10 times when you face it. This strategy is very old and fails quite often for believe it or not, Shuckle is really not that impressive after Power Split and tbh a skilled battler would never Let Deoxys stay on Shuckle if he/she knows that Deoxys isn't carrying Taunt and will most likely switch to the Pokemon with the least offensive capabilities. For this reason it will almost always fail and it should be noted that shuckle will be denting more but will only be KOing pokemon that have a weakness to it.
Valet, you are just too HORRIBLY horrible ^-^!!!!!!
Is Taunt the move that forces me into attacking moves only? If so I'm fine with them sending out a wall after all Shuckle's still got the higher defenses.
I actually intended for this to be about base stats. I will take the blame though as I had not said that previously.
And it's always going to be fun to know that Shuckle's base stats can become way higher than Arceus's.
Yes however Power Split can easily be compared to a stat boosting move such as Calm Mind SOMETIMES butit will not increase much should your opponent switch out to a Pokemon that has no form of offensive presence. Seeing that stat boosting moves are available to most Pokemon including Arceus, Arceus will be proven many more times more powerful then Shuckle for a 4X Sword Dance/Calm Mind will lift Arceus's Attack/Special attack stat to divine levels so even in stats, Arceus still wins
The problem is that Shuckle can't do crap without a Power Split up.
And btw, Arceus still has higher stats, you can't just give it 150 speed. Js.
^^ Being in trick room does not amount to having a higher base speed. :c

This could work, but you would need to be using Shuckle in the Uber tier to do it, and I have no idea why you would do that, as if your opponent doesn't have a Deoxys-Attack, then Shuckle is pretty much dead weight. It could use Power Split on something else I suppose, but it wouldn't be as effective (although it would probably still be quite good, because if it is in Uber anything it faces will have high attack stats). Now you have me thinking - maybe I'll try it sometime. Not now though :)

Again, you are thinking of Power Trick. Power Split does nothing to the defenses, so Shuckle will have the same defenses, unless they are lowered by leer or something. And he mentioned Trick Room, but it speed won't matter, I think.
yup i misread the question
Wouldn't it be hilarious if the next Pokemon World Championship was won after someone took down an Arceus with a Shuckle that way? After that their would be a lot of Anti Shuckle Pokemon. These would pretty much be Pokemon with Super Fang and that one Dragon type move that constantly does 40 damage. It's name eludes me. At least Shuckle would get some more fame.
On a side note this is probably my most commented question.
yea it would. Of course as someone else mentioned a taunt user could completely shut it down. But if Trick Room  was up, then Shuckle would move first, excluding priority and prankster.
