How high can a pokemon's attack reach after using Belly Drum?

They said that Pokemon that use "Belly drum" will raise max their attack. I don't understand how much is "Max"? double damage or x3....or x4 ??? could you told me?

A pokemon's stat level starts at level 0 and there are six negative stages and six positive stages. Belly Drum always raises its stat level to the maximum, +6, which is 4 times its original stat.

The 6 stages are 1½, 2, 2½, 3, 3½ and 4.
