Crits and stat changes?

Question

So I was toodling around (can't remember where) and I heard (who said it? no idea) them say (what was it they said? I don't remember) that crits ignore stat changes.

True not true, or variations thereof?

This is indeed true. Crits aren't affected by stat changes at all. That's why people hope for crits when their opponents have, lets say, +3 SAtk and SDef.
