What to do if I don't want a Pokemon holding mail in my party?

This godamn unown is annoying. it won't ever level up when I beat a battle it says it gained 0 experience. but my friend put mail on it and I don't know how to get it off. It won't let me put it in the PC. Nor release it. What was Satoshi thinking?

Your game has something wrong with it.

Mail doesn't usually have any of the consequences you listed; therefore meaning there is something wrong with your game, or you were traded a hacked or glitched Pokemon.

Anyway, Mail can removed by going to the Pokemon menu, selecting the Pokemon and tapping 'Item' then 'Remove'.
